We Did It!

I am honored to represent YOU on the SLO City Council

I want to express how incredibly thankful I am for all the support we've received throughout this campaign. Our community is astonishingly strong and our desire to move forward together was made clear in this election.

The City Council is yours, we love you, we want to hear from you, and we can't wait to make it easier for all of you to engage in decision making citywide.

My deepest thanks go out to every person who talked about the election with friends, walked neighborhoods, displayed signs, hosted events, decorated for parties, provided emotional support, took photos, shot video, and engaged online.

I'm especially moved by the hard work and loving kindness displayed by campaign team, John Ewan, Eric Meyer, Mary Ellen Gibson, Michelle Shoresman, Whitney Szentesi, Courtney Witt Kienow, Megan Rivoire, and most of all, the absolutely unstoppable Leslie Bloom. We won this election together, no question about it. I aim to make you all proud.

Thanks again for everything,

Dan Rivoire

Mail-In Ballots

Voting has begun!

This week our mailer landed in the inboxes of thousands of SLO residents, at the same time as their ballots! This piece, which I am very proud of, is going to be very helpful in spreading the word about my run for council, and why I am so passionate about representing SLO residents in the years to come.

In addition to the mailers and ballots, you can also catch me in this month's SLO Life Magazine, talking about the issues and my plan as a council member. I am thrilled to continue to reach more residents as election day gets closer, and am forever grateful for your support and continued excitement for my campaign.

Vote community in November. Vote Rivoire.

Walking Thank You

WOW! What an amazing weekend it was walking with the amazing volunteers who are helping me give it my all in this run for SLO City Council.

Our start on Saturday morning was fueled by coffee, donuts and some beautiful coastal fog. We trekked around a few neighborhoods and talked to folks about my focus on completing essential infrastructure and enhancing community well being.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came out to walk with me and spread the word about my campaign. If you would like to lend a hand, sign up to volunteer, make a donation, or share one of our images to help spread the word!

I am looking forward to receiving your vote on November 4th and representing you as a council member in the years to come.

Becoming a candidate.

On June 4th, 2014, I decided to announce my candidacy for San Luis Obispo City Council.

Asking the constituents of this wonderful community to choose me as their representative is not a decision that I take lightly.

Serious internal dialogue dominated my thoughts throughout the last four months. Thankfully, my wife and closest colleagues, helped carefully evaluate every line of positive and negative reasoning behind the prospect of serving as a member of the council. At the end of the day, we found that the positive drastically outweigh the negative and that we should move forward.

So here we are, standing strong for a valuable new perspective, for building consensus around a shared vision of San Luis Obispo's successful future.

I ask you all to join me, VoteRivoire, learn, and speak out to the decision makers working to make our community incredible.

It puts a smile on my face to get this campaign started, even if there are a lot of steps to climb.
